Creating a Project

Student Self-Upload

2 min read

The Student Upload Page

When a student opens their unique upload link, they see a simple page with:

  • Their name and the project name
  • Which photos they need to upload (baby, current, or both)
  • The submission deadline (if one was set)
  • Upload slots for each required photo

How Students Upload

  1. The student opens their link in any browser (phone or computer).
  2. They tap "Choose photo" to select a photo from their gallery, or use the camera to take one.
  3. The photo uploads immediately — no submit button needed.
  4. A green checkmark confirms the upload.

Students can come back to the page at any time to change their photos, as long as submissions are still open.

Tips for Sharing with Students

  • No account required. Students do not need to sign up or log in.
  • Works on any device. The page is designed for phones first.
  • Photo formats: JPG, PNG, and HEIC (iPhone photos) are all accepted, up to 20 MB.
  • Baby photo guidance: Let students know you need a photo from when they were 0-5 years old.
  • Current photo: A clear, front-facing photo works best. Students can take a selfie directly from the upload page.

When Submissions Close

Students can no longer upload once:

  • The submission deadline has passed, or
  • You start generating the video

Students who visit the link after closure will see a friendly message explaining that submissions are closed.
