Step 4: Configure Your Video
The first part of Step 4 lets you fine-tune how your morph video looks and feels. These settings control the order students appear, how long each morph lasts, and the pause between students.
Student Ordering
Choose how students appear in the final video:
- Alphabetical — Students are sorted by last name, then first name. This is the default and works well for formal leavers assemblies.
- Random Shuffle — Students appear in a randomised order. Good for a more casual, fun presentation.
Morph Duration
Use the Morph Duration slider to set how long each student's baby-to-current transition takes.
- Range: 2 to 6 seconds per student.
- Increments: 0.5 seconds.
- Shorter durations (2-3 seconds) create a fast-paced, energetic video.
- Longer durations (4-6 seconds) produce smoother, more dramatic morphs that give the audience time to recognise each student.
A good starting point for most classes is 3 to 4 seconds.
Gap Between Students
Use the Gap slider to add a brief pause between each student's morph.
- Range: 0 to 2 seconds.
- Increments: 0.25 seconds.
- 0 seconds means morphs flow directly into one another with no break.
- 0.5 to 1 second gives the audience a moment to react before the next student appears.
Video Summary
Below the settings, a summary panel shows:
- Total matched students — the number of pairs that will appear in the video.
- Estimated video length — calculated from your morph duration, gap settings, and number of students.
Use this to gauge whether your video length is appropriate for your ceremony. You can adjust settings and see the estimate update in real time.
