Common Issues

Here are the most frequently encountered issues and how to resolve them.

"Couldn't find a face"

Problem: The AI could not detect a face in the uploaded photo.

Solution: Use a clearer, front-facing photo where the face is well-lit and clearly visible. Avoid side profiles, photos with sunglasses, heavy shadows, or images where the face is very small in the frame.

"Photo is too small"

Problem: The uploaded image does not meet the minimum resolution requirement.

Solution: Use a photo that is at least 100 x 100 pixels. Photos taken on a phone or digital camera are usually fine. Very old scanned thumbnails may need to be re-scanned at a higher resolution.

"Photo has an unusual shape"

Problem: The image has an extreme aspect ratio that the system cannot process.

Solution: Crop the photo to a standard portrait or landscape ratio before uploading. Avoid extreme panoramas, thin strips, or very wide banners.

"File couldn't be read"

Problem: The uploaded file appears to be damaged or corrupted.

Solution: Try re-saving the photo using your photo app or image editor, then upload the new copy. If the file came from a messaging app, ask for the original version instead.

"Unsupported format"

Problem: The photo is in a format SchoolMorph cannot process.

Solution: Convert the image to JPEG before uploading. HEIC files from iPhones are supported, but some heavily edited or exported files may not work. When in doubt, save as JPEG.

Upload seems stuck

Problem: The upload progress bar is not moving.

Solution: Check your internet connection and try again. Note that files larger than 20 MB are automatically rejected. If the file is too large, reduce the image size or re-export at a lower resolution.

Processing is slow

Problem: The video is taking a long time to generate.

Solution: Larger classes naturally take longer. Processing time is roughly 30 to 60 seconds per student. You can safely close the page and wait for the email notification when your video is ready.

"Too many requests"

Problem: You have hit a rate limit.

Solution: Wait a moment and try again. This limit is in place to keep the service running smoothly for all users.
